Cold Mourning by Brenda Chapman

5.0

Well, I usually rate within genres but this five star is an overall one. The story is great, the character development is fabulous, the pace and dialogue are great. It was just a thoroughly good read.
It's a murder mystery in the police line but is not a procedural. A specialized team comes together under an experienced officer. A young woman from the north joins them. Their major case is the disappearance then murder of a businessman. The plot thickens from there. The side stories and background characters are also woven beautifully.
