sometimes, like with this book, i just want to rip my heart out of my chest and throw it out the window, because i never want to feel something with it again.

what the actual f**k was that ending? all of those things happening and THAT’s the ending?… kinda dissapointed

Ocean is one of the cutest characters i’ve ever read and i might have actually liked Shirin also, but something about their relationship just felt missing. can’t put my finger on it though. there’s just something left out that puts me off. i really shipped them and wanted to see how things would ultimately work out between them, but after some point there was just no spark of interest.

then there’s the problem of Yusef. and Amna. and maybe even Jacobi, Carlos and Bijan. they feld SO bland and unuseful to the story… especially Yusef and Amna, Navid’s friends not so much. they were put out there, left to sink into the story in the background and brought back to life to fill some minor plot points. they added pretty much nothing to the story.

also, what about her passions? ok, i get it that she’s kinda quirky and does all this stuff that’s “weird” like the fact that she makes her own clothes and breakdances, but shouldn’t there have been more emphasis put on them? like actually make the readers interested in what she does?

i wanted to like this book more, but after all, it was only enjoyable, a good way to spend my flight.

“The more I got to know people, the more I realized we were all just a bunch of frightened idiots walking around in the dark, bumping into each other and panicking for no reason at all.”
