The Pursuit of Lady Harriett by Rachael Anderson

3.0

Rachael Anderson is a strong and reliable writer. If her name is on it I will generally give it a shot. This was a lovely little adventure. It's an enemies-to-lovers-ish story with some fun and genuine moments. Christopher makes for an unlikely but strong hero while Harriett was a bit weaker but still interesting. I liked the overall story and it had a sweet conclusion.
I like my Regency to be true to the period and for the most part this one delivers. I did take issue with the use of first names and the quickly shortened nicknames that went with it. I understand what the author was trying to do with it but it turned me off. In that time and place using names to be "friendly" just wasn't a thing and it served to pull me out of the story. If this was the only thing I might have given it a pass but there were a couple more non-period activities. Despite this I kept reading and enjoyed it for the most part.
