Wow. This book was heartbreaking, compelling, and hauntingly beautiful. It was a page-turner that I could not put down as I connected so deeply with Cassie and desperately wanted to see her heal. This book is such a vivid and incredible exploration of mental health and how important it is to confront your past so that you can move on with your future. I loved the symbolism in this book, such as the many different meanings of water and the broken cactus in Zoey and Cassie's dorm room. This book also made me think about just how important it is to be kind to everyone because you absolutely never know what their past is like. Without a doubt this is a five star read, and I highly recommend it.
