This is a collection of Short Stories from 40 authors to celebrate 40 years of Star Wars. The short stories are a retelling of A New Hope from different perspectives. Virtually everyone knows the story and has seen the film, so to celebrate the milestone, these stories sound like a great idea.

The book starts off with the bridge between Rogue One and A New Hope. A great short story and a great start to the Anthology.

Like most anthologies, there will be stories that work, and others that fall short of the mark. While there were a couple of 5 star stories, there were also a couple of 1 stars as well. The majority of the stories were 3/4 stars, and thus the 4 star rating.

There are some issues with continuity in the stories. These are obvious in the Cantina scenes as well as the Trench Run stories (especially those left on the planet - one story states there were too many pilots for the birds, the following story stating otherwise). That minor gripe aside, this was a very enjoyable read.
