Once Upon an Eid: Stories of Hope and Joy by 15 Muslim Voices by S.K. Ali, Aisha Saeed

5.0

“Bismillah. For all readers who know Eid joy, and for all who want to share in it.”

“We hope the joy will resonate with all kids - Muslim or not - and unite us all in celebration”

Please read this collection. Even writing this review makes me tear up and miss my family. It also makes me smile and sniff! This book completely stole my heart.

Individual rating follows which I will average but THIS IS A FANTASTIC COLLECTION. PLEASE READ IT. Also - each story starts with an illustrated picture at the beginning which was lovely - see more reason to pick it up.

Also can I also have a similar collection for other faiths too please!!

PERFECT 3 stars
I like the message about building a synergy between cultures. The clothes swapping were nice - so cute …

YUSUF AND THE GREAT BROWNIE MISTAKE - 4 stars
I liked the fact that the boy is cooking. This made me tear up - so sweet.
