This is one of the best movie/shows I’ve ever read lol. Seriously, it reads like a movie or a multi episode special premiere. It was a real emotional roller coaster. I didn’t know if I was going to love or hate every one until the end. There are a few things I personally would have liked to have differently, thing I wish would have been given less time and other things more time. But the writing style was enjoyable, it’s a lengthy read but it still manages to be fast to medium paced. It had me in a chokehold until 4am before it let me put it down for more than a few minutes. And I don’t know if it was intentional but writing light skinned black men as aggressive killers and criminals, writing dark skinned black women as soft, sheltered, deserving and in need of protection, writing black mothers who cared and nurtured and protected, it did IT for me! This was Black crime/mafia excellence and she should teach a class goes it gave all that it was supposed to and more! So glad I finally joined the cool kids club and read this book. I know I could trust those who recommended it so I saved it for when I really needed it and it didn’t disappoint!
