Ranieri Andretti by Parker S. Huntington

5.0

Parker S. Huntington certainly knows how to deliver an amazing mafia romance. With her first two releases, I was entranced, and thought, a novella, will it be as good? Let me tell you, she blew this story out of the water! Her second chance romance for Ranieri and Carina is so good, I got completely lost in it. They are childhood friends, caught up in family matters. When their relationship is severed, it looked like there was no hope for either of them. But will they find their way back to each other? Ranieri is mentioned in previous books, and his personality is strong, and ruthless. But this book shows an entirely different side to the man. Carina is strong willed, independent and so guarded. Emotionally charged, I felt the everything while listening, All the longing, the hurt, the frustration and passion these two share is so compelling, it's impossible not to root for their happiness. As part of a series, there are characters we see overlap, which I absolutely love, but the best part is you can definitely listen as a standalone(though I don't recommend it, you don't want to miss the other books!) Add in new characters like Brody and Carina's father and you have a listen you do not want to miss.

Parker picked a winning team to narrate this story. With duet narration, Jeremy York and Desiree Ketchum bring the story to life. It's amazing how much a narration can affect a story, and these two give all the feels, inflections and passion to the characters. Amazing emotional tugs that just enhance the listen and make for a great afternoon!
