Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

4.0

Reread:
This was my favorite of the series during my first read and really it's all because of Manon, Abraxos, and the 13. I couldn't care less about Chaol or Nesryn this time around (which worries me b/c my next favorite book in the series is the veryyyy unpopular opinion of TOD. Yes I'm concerned for that re-read). Aedion is my favorite in QoS and only goes downhill from here for me...I hate the simp cousin role he takes on in books to come. Too weak, too soft.

Which funnily enough is my issue with Rowan, too. I just want a tough guy who STAYS TOUGH and has his own personality after falling in love. Now after reading all of SJMs books to date, I realize this is normal occurance for which I'm not a fan of. I swear to goodness is Azriel becomes a pile of babbling, drooling nonsense I will lose it (in a bad way).

Personal recap:
Ends with the king dying and Dorian being released from the Valg Prince. The book that gives us prime Dorian and Manon quotes. Manon learning about her grandmothers shittiness and Asterin’s story. Kaltain’s epic finale.
