The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies

4.0

Surprisingly enjoyable! The story is genuinely engaging as I became invested in who would win the war and the plot moves well with the chapter perspectives alternating between the two siblings. The business tips and definitions that open each chapter are a nice touch to communicate information about running a business to young readers. I wish that the mother of these kids had been a more active presence, although this did force Evan and Jessie to be proactive about dealing with their problems, and that the book hadn't shamelessly ended on a cliffhanger, but otherwise this was a fun read to share with my son.
