I adored this book! It’s slow to start as it builds the mythology, but it picks up after about 80-100 pages. That may sound like a lot, but it’s a big book so I didn’t mind the slow build! My only complaint about this book and its sequel is that many of the main character’s enemies are men. She faces several disturbing situations fighting these enemies. More details in the content warnings!
Moderate: Sexual assault and Sexual harassment
Brief scenes with threatened sexual assault. Some male characters imply sexual violence aimed at the main character. There is a moment where a male character is on top of her in a fight and the dialogue/descriptions may be triggering to some. These themes/types of scenes are present in the sequel book, too.
