Fantastic start
I'm normally on top of what this author has in the works. Somehow, this one slipped past my radar though. Discovering this right after Christmas made this a perfect late present and a perfect way to end 2023.
This is a spin-off series that works well. It feels fresh and natural. Even though some of the characters interact, it didn't feel like it was a continuation which I really appreciate. Oftentimes, when a series continues on after numerous books it gets stale and diluted. With the introduction of this new spin-off it breathed life into it. This book shows why I'm a fan of RE. Her words keep me invested from the first page to the very end.
Strong likeable characters, suspenseful action, and a great storyline with just the right amount of steam made this a great book and start. I look forward to what is going to be next from this author.
