The Last Correspondent by Soraya M. Lane

3.0

The topic of women correspondents during WWII interested me, however I thought the book concentrated too much on the romance angle of the three main women characters. The way some of their wartime adventures were depicted bothered me some also. Of interest, though is the Reader Note at the end of the book. The author talks about some of the real women correspondents during WWII. Only one correspondent landed in Normandy on D-day, and it was a woman - Martha Gellhorn who was the third wife of Ernest Hemingway. I found this to be fascinating. She had to have been a very brave woman.
