What Lies Between Us by John Marrs

5.0

4.5 Solid Stars

This was a great book! I did listen to the audio version. I found myself finding more chores to do so that I could listen because I had to know what was going to happen. I took the dogs on extra walks and for that, they thank John Marrs. He is quickly moving up the ranks as one of my favorite authors. The ability to find unique stories is ever-present in this book as Nina and Maggie live in their crazy, messed-up world.

Nina and Maggie share Nina's childhood home, although they don't roam the house freely. Maggie is chained to her room in the attic while Nina is constantly looking for ways to punish Maggie for the harm she has inflicted on her life. You simply can't look away from their twisted, codependent relationship to see what will happen next. You won't want to miss this one.
