Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica

3.0

Tender is the Flesh follows Marcos in a world where a virus has contaminated meat, leaving it unsafe for humans to eat causing cann!ba@sm to become the normal.

REVIEW:

A very interesting concept for a book but it did leave me confused at parts.

A good short read for those who enjoy a thriller/horror book

Although the author doesn’t go into depth around topics that could easily be tackled in this sort of book, such as racism and sexism, there are hidden elements of these sorts of topics.

One topic that does come through heavily in this book is how detached people became and how easy it was for humans to adjust to becoming cannibals and caring very little that the ‘special meat’ are human like them or that they were bred specifically for them to consume.

Tender is the Flesh goes through the sorts of torture animals go through for human consumption. As someone who is already vegetarian, this resonated a lot with me.
