I was so drawn in at the beginning. I was so intrigued, and found the premises weird and funny. As the novella went on though I felt like it lost some spark. The story is up for interpretation, but it is mainly about society and the treatment of others (and in my mind even animals - but acknowledging that when this was written it would have been about being treated like an animal), therefore, there isn't much spark to be had and unfortunately I did kind of lose interest.

“His growing lack of concern for the others hardly surprised him, whereas previously he had prided himself on being considerate.” Honestly Gregor, I don't blame ya! Treat others how you want to be treated.
