The Rose Legacy by Jessica Day George

4.0

I wish I liked this book more. The premise is adorable and long overdue reunions are one of my biggest reading pleasures. I gush every time! But there’s a lot of character exposition. It got tiring. Several scenes ended in similar fashions, with one of Anthea's relatives/friends dropping a bombshell, her freaking out, and then just... accepting it with absolutely no proof.

As is, I did love the world the story was set in. And I appreciated that the horse didn’t turn out to be some experiment her father cast on himself, as I was worried that’s where this was all headed. Three and a calf cows seems fair.
