Unequal Affections: A Pride and Prejudice Retelling by Lara S. Ormiston

4.0

Out of most contemporary sequels to Pride and Prejudice this has to be one of the best. Though it feels as if there was quite a bit more dialog than the original, the dialog is, at least, believable. It's a romance story. Darcy is perfect, or near perfect. There are a few portions in which is was so embarrassed for the couple that I hid my own face while reading, which I love about this story!

The part I disliked was that I felt as if the romance got so sappy sometimes, and Darcy so romantic and head over heels in love, that his character was slightly ridiculous. This does not overshadow it's enjoyment factor, however. Darcy's sappiness brought it down 1 star, but the rest was very good.
