Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

Did not finish book.
Pachinko is a really slow burn and I spent the first half wondering if anybody was actually going to play pachinko or not.

If you're a fan of books like [b:One Hundred Years of Solitude|320|One Hundred Years of Solitude|Gabriel García Márquez|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1327881361l/320._SX50_.jpg|3295655] then you'll like this exploration of multi-generational life in Korea and Japan. I was very interested in the political and historical aspect of the book. It's so enjoyable to read about history but as told through every-day people living through it, but overall the book wasn't really for me and I was very glad to get it over with.

I hear they've also created a TV show but I'll probably be giving that a miss.
Rated 3 stars out of respect for the writing (which was great).
