Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao

5.0

So I loved this book for a few reasons.
First, it is so incredibly refreshing to have such a strong, morally grey, unapologetic female main character. Wu Zetian is everything I ever wanted in a MC.
Usually, I have moments with MC where they just avoid doing the sensible thing, or they experience crippling self-doubt or some other trope that pulls the character from their main goal or ambition for the sake of internal conflict (or some other type of conflict) creation. Not Wu Zetian, whenever there is even the briefest moment of this she snaps herself out of it and reminds herself that she's a bad b*tch with a point to prove!
Not only that, she is one of the ONLY vocally childfree characters I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
This book was amazing and I highly recommend it!

P.S. Cant wait for the sequel!
