Because You're Mine by Claire Contreras

5.0

It feels like I’ve been on a Mafia kick lately. And I’m all for it.
Honestly, there was just something about this book that drew me in. I was hooked from the moment that I opened my Kindle app. I came upon this book by chance. I was in a bit of a funk, and didn’t know what to read. So I went to KU and picked a book from an author that I liked.
We meet Catalina Masseria, a woman that is fleeing from all that her family is - which is corruption. She’s literally a Mafia Princess, yet she hides it. And she has very good reasons for running away from her father and that life. Yet, along comes Lorenzo Costello - and he blows all of her plans out of the water - literally. He plants himself into her life, an doesn’t give her a choice. He shows up, and like a wrecking ball - destroys her plans for her what she wanted in her life.
I loved their chemistry - because it was immediate. And it was explosive. The level of hotness that was in the book is indescribable.
I loved everything about this book. From the storyline to the characters. How fast and hard they fell for each other. Loren couldn’t seem to stay away from Cat, and like a moth to a flame, she was equally drawn to him.
I absolutely loved their journey. Even though they had their struggles, they grew as individuals and as a couple. I loved that Loren was willing to do anything to protect Cat and to give her what she needed and wanted. He was quite literally - swoon worthy. He was just the right amount of Alpha, and cocky. But with enough romance - in his own way to give to Cat. He knew what he wanted and was willing to go after it, regardless of he consequence.
As for Cat, I loved how loyal she was. Everything was about her family, always her sister, and obviously trying to find her mother. But she was also perfect for Loren. She was exactly what he needed in his life.
I’m kind of hesitant to start the next book in the series, but I know that I want to. I just don’t know if I’m ready to dive back into that world. I’ll eventually get to it. Because that’s the thing about Claire’s books, they draw you in and are so addicting. But are so intense.
