Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose by Joe Biden

5.0

As a general rule, I do NOT like non-fiction. I've always avoided it as much as possible besides required reading for classes. I decided to read this just to see what our President-elect has to say.

From the moment I picked this book up, it was hard to put it down. I fell asleep reading it two nights and started reading again the moment I woke up the next morning. For the most part, it reads more like a fictional story than dry non-fiction. There were a few parts where I skimmed some of the 'political' details, but this didn't hamper my enjoyment in the least. It was a very emotional read with a lot of highs and lows. I laughed; I cried. I was left with a sense of hope and optimism. It has been life-changing in the sort of way of self-reflection.

I will be recommending this to just about everyone I know.
