This was a fun, steamy read. Definitely a true grumpy vs sunshine book.

Charlynn aka Charly is going to school (for marketing I thinking) while working low-end jobs to get by. But her roommate recently stole all her money and her sleazy landlord is blackmailing her for sex in exchange for delayed rent. When she's looking in the help wanted ads, she sees Maxx's post for a "Girl Friday" - essentially a wife to cook & clean for him and manage his garage's systems. Initially turned off by how outdated/sexist it is, she messages him stating so but desperation makes her accept. Maxx thinks she's a man since he only knows her name is Charly and she's 25. Maxx is 37.

SpoilerThe garage is outside of Toronto in a smaller town. On the way there Charly uses the last of her savings to stay at a motel and eat at a bar. That's where Maxx sees her and they're instantly attracted. He sees her home and they end up sleeping together. Lo and behold the next morning they think they'll never see each other again, except they do when he goes to pick up "Charly" and sees her.

She begs to be given a chance to prove herself. She does a stellar job, cooks him the pies he loves. But of course they can't keep their hands off each other ;) She helps him expand the garage, bringing on Brent and his friend Sebastian to help handle all the increased demand so that he can spend more time doing what he loves - restoration (especially of motorcycles). She also uses her marketing skills to promote the business, rebranding, creating a website, redecorating the inside. His customers love it and his business is super successful.

Maxx's backstory is that his girlfriend Shannon West and his ex-friend Billy Rines had an affair and then stole the Indian motorcycle that he had helped his father restore over years. He was super betrayed so he has a hard time trusting Charly now. Eventually he is able to trust her after she continues to prove herself. And they even catch Shannon and Billy and recover his motorcycle.

Two years later the business is thriving and Charly gives birth to a son.
