I didn't love this book but I did really enjoy it. The ending is a little predictable and expected and I did accidentally spoil the lil plot twist before I'd even started reading (thanks instagram!) but I think it leads well to the next book.
The discussions on slavery, racism and colonialism is really interesting to me, as someone who is not from the USA, and I really hope the series continues to touch on those themes because it's not something I've seen done in many YA books, let alone fantasy YA books.
