Tiny Pretty Things by Dhonielle Clayton, Sona Charaipotra

“The moment you think you're on top is the moment you've lost your passion.”

Trigger warnings : racism, eating disorders (bullimia, anorexia...), bullying, homophobia, dubious consent, hints to sexual assault and pedophilia..

Honestly, this was enjoyable but at the same time there were so many things that made it just... meh. The development for both romances (Alec and Gigi as well as June and Jayhe) is flat and inexistant. It literally starts out of nowhere, and even though I can tell there is chemistry, I didn't fall for them as much as I thought I would.

Apart from Alec and Gigi, I couldn't stand any of the characters, most of all Bette and June. They're all irritating, cruel and backstabbing assholes. But I guess that's the point of the whole story.

I did like the mystery around it all, which, I have to admit, saved this book from being a total fail, and I am kind of excited to read the second book and see how it all unfolds after that ending.
