The Wrong Side of Goodbye by Michael Connelly
dark
mysterious
tense
4.0
One of the good ones, which is refreshing considering things were not looking up much for a a few couple of books.
The 2 cases are interesting, though the screen-cutter one was, to me, more it than the Vance case. And this time around, I wasn't mad at the book or the TV show, even though both cases were used for the show. Sometimes, I feel like one or the other is a let down, but not this time. I understand the choices they made for the show, and I really liked the book as well.
I'm also pleasantly pleased at how Bosch is in a somewhat gray area with LAPD, where he has to take a good look at what cop culture can be. I like my crime stories to not be completely sauced in copaganda, so that was a little refreshing as well (tho hey, let's face it, Connelly is most propbably pro-cop, and it's not like he's super sublte about it imo).
