I'm glad I listened to this on audio, I don't think I'd have gotten the same experience on paper.

I believe that my review is based on my own life experiences, not currently single/in a toxic relationship. Also as a millennial in their 30's.

But my god did all 3 women need both a hug and a shake, because I related to each of them in their own way.

Joy's POV made me both cringe and listen, to her talks about being single and in love with her roommate, to fighting with her stomach in dreams about pizza.

Annie, as Joy's best friend, I understood how irked she was over Joy's obsession with Theo, and her own frustrations with her hobosexual toxic boyfriend (seriously him going to the car to nap while her cat was at the vet's made me rage. Kudos to her for quitting her job in the end, she was a real one for that.

I would have loved more of Celine, from Joy's chapters, she's seen as this perfect waif of a woman with everything going for her, but from her own view, she has her own flaws and hang-ups that made me think, if her and Joy had one conversation not around Theo, they could have been friends.

Would recommend listening to it in audio format.
