Book Review - To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini

Aaaaahhhhh Space Opera!!! (Sing this like you would Rock Lobster by the B-52s)

It’s been a minute since I have read a book like this, where the story is long and complicated. I have read a bunch of sci-fi series that do this kind of epic story telling, but over the course of multiple books.... this is one book and it succeeds in making the reader invest in our main character Kira. We feel deeply for the characters she cares about throughout.

The ragtag team of characters that inhabit the Spaceship that rescues/collects Kira in the beginning of the book are great! I loved them all!! And I really enjoyed the relationship developments as they get to know each other and become acquaintances, to friends, and finally found family!

Ultimately the conflict here and the climax at the end was really satisfying. I did feel like it got really long winded towards the end, but it was still enjoying. 3.5/5 but I’m gonna bump it up to 4/5.
