Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

3.0

Some people say that Doestoyevsky is better than Tolstoy, but I am not one of those people. The book was rather pointless, exploring the experiments of a young MRA with exerting his psychopathic powers by murdering an innocent pawnbroker and her even more innocent friend, and being saved through the unwarranted charity of all his acquaintances, mostly female, and ultimately in the last page randomly finding faith and being saved by religion. Like Proust, I am sick of these MRA tortured young male protagonists. The book's antisemitism, while not prevalent, was quite pointed and notable.
