A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting

4.0

Thank you NetGalley and Forever publishing for the advance reader copy of A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting. This book was so quirky and cute; a solid 4 maybe even 4.5 stars!

If you read & enjoyed Christina Lauren's Josh & Hazel's Guide to Not Dating you will probably love and appreciate the eccentric personality in the FMC of this book (Kitty). Kitty is an animal lover, she owns her own cat sitting business and she reminded me a lot of Kristen from Abby Jimenez's book The Friend Zone! I love a FMC that has lots of big personality and is not afraid to show it. Best part about this book was NO third act breakup! I swear that "miscommunication" stuff in the third act of most rom-coms really messes up my connection with a story, but not here! This was a classic in the genre though, lots of laugh out loud rom-com moments, the allergic reaction scene reminded me of the movie Hitch and the scene near the end in the park with the dog and cat on a leash had me laughing out loud while reading in public!

I immediately connected with Miles in chapter one, I loved how Hunting started the book from his POV. Speaking of POV, I loved the dual setup with Miles and Kitty. I honestly don't enjoy romance stories as much anymore if they are not from both POVs. Overall, I really enjoyed this story and all of the characters (both human and animal). I could probably get into another story by Hunting if it centered around Kitty's best friend Kat or Miles' best friend Josh, or even Parker O'Toole the young NHL player and his grandpa!
