Say You're Sorry by Melinda Leigh

I would give this book 3.5 / 5 stars.

Tessa a local teenager is murdered in a brutal way and all eyes are on the recently ex-boyfriend (Nick). Morgan who is a family friend of both Nick and Tessa cannot believe that Nick – the person who reads stories to her children is capable of such a horrific crime. Morgan who specialises as a Prosecutor decides to change sides and defend Nick and find Tessa’s real killer but is against the clock as prison is not a safe place for Nick.
The book is a bit slow at the beginning and then crazy fast at the end but does have a good twist that’s not too predictable, which I find a problem with some thrillers. The author uses a good amount of suspects to throw you off the scent a bit.
As an relationship nears between Morgan and the Private Investigator (Lance) who she dated back when she was a teenager and you can clearly see that they both have strong feelings about each other but the storyline doesn't go into great detail and focusses on the main agenda.
Overall it was a nice easy read (I listened to it on audible) and if your on Kindle Unlimited it is on there so worth a download.
