I'm a little conflicted about this book to be honest. It's based on a true story apparently, but classed as a work of fiction, which always leaves me wondering how much of the occurances actually took place, if any at all, and which were exaggerated or straight up made up.
It also made me not trust her information on Aborigines, but definitly left me with a personal need to get some biographies to help make up for that.
At times her notions seemed fairly biased, borderline racist and with a strong note of white saviorism in my personal opinion, which made it feel like yet another work of a white person benefiting off of a marginalised group.
I did however like the writing style, it was simple and quick to read.
