Filthy English by Ilsa Madden-Mills

5.0

Filthy English is the second book in the English series. I absolutely loved Dirty English so I knew I had to get my hands on Filthy English. We met Dax, Declan's twin brother and all-around player, in Dirty English. I always knew there was a reason for his manwhore ways and as it turns out, it's because of the one girl that got away. The one girl he spent the best three nights of his life with who he let walk out his door. Three years later in a bar in London, she literally falls into his lap. He didn't recognize her until she got close enough and her scent mesmerized him. Memories came flooding back and he couldn't help himself. Remi is on her honeymoon without her husband. He cancelled the wedding and she took her best friend Lulu with her instead. She wants to move on and she thinks one night with a sexy Brit will do the trick. After a few drinks and a slip, she ends up in the lap of a handsome stranger who turns out not to be a stranger at all, but the only man she's ever loved, Dax Blay. She can't do that to herself again. She's still heartbroken from the way things ended years ago. Her mind says no, but her body says yes! Can Dax convince Remi to start over and just be friends? Is that what he really wants? I love this couple! They have great chemistry and hilarious banter. I haven't read a couple this frustrating in years, but it was worth it in the end! I hope to see Lulu and Spider again :).

"What does it taste like?"
"Like bad decisions."

I don’t think I could carry on without knowing he was breathing. Like a piece of carefully folded paper that's been hidden away but it now opened, I saw everything clearly. The truth had been right in front of me the entire time.
