The Holly Dates by Brittainy C. Cherry

3.0

Let me just say that this book is the first book I’ve finished in a while so that alone makes this book good. I would even give it a 3.25/3.5 stars. I was so angry at Kai’s parents and Holly’s brother. For separate reasons but still, when they would talk my blood was boiling. I enjoyed Kai and Hollys quirky banter and how Mano was rooting for them. I didn’t appreciate the three epilogues but only because I’m a “they’re together, great now the book can end” type of girlie. So no fault to the author with that. I felt it could have been shorten by 15 percent and it didn’t need a third act breakup. I would have loved to see either an interaction between Holly and Cassie or a fight break out where she has to defend herself against awful Matthew. I just felt the third act break up wasn’t making sense since from the beginning they have been communicating with each other about their feelings and past. So the reason she was upset felt a little out of character for her, for me. Especially since she forgave him so quickly, but that’s just my thoughts. I still recommend to the girlies who want a really cute holiday romance. And don’t like a lot of smut in their books. Overall, a solid read
