This story is a truly lovely tale that reads like an old, traditional fairy story - in a way that makes it a children's story, but stays true to the balance of bargains and wild things and danger and magic just at the corner of your eye but also hidden and waiting everywhere.
I rather adored Lillian very swiftly, and the way she was shown searching for fairies but also offering kindness and care - and respect - to all manner of wild things, and looking only for the fun and the magic of it was simply wonderful.
