Did not finish book. Stopped at 45%.

the 1st third was great fun. Then it threw in one of my all time Nr 1 bêtes noires- the fixation on biological family being paramount. I hate this trope with a deeply visceral hatred, and the idea of a forced reconciliation where a character realises that "yes Mom & Dad are scum, but hey, they're family first" makes me want to drop the book AND my ereader.
