The Netanyahus by Joshua Cohen

2.5

  • Read for the Smith and Gertrude book club - which featured excellent cheese and wine. However, no one attending the evening said that they would recommend the book to a friend. This is a complex book which won the Pulitzer Prize. A campus novel - depicting both the culture clash between American and Israeli Jews and the pettiness of academic life. Layers of truth and history make this a complex book, rich in irony, but it’s hard work to really appreciate what’s going on.
