Burden by K.C. Wells
5.0
I love this story, as much for getting the chance to know Jesse and Randy better and seeing Nikko with Mitch and his HEA from Debt.
Jesse is struggling with life after the events in book 1 and is surviving the only way he knows how which clashes with Randy's job working in Vice, just another reason he believes they wouldn't work. Meanwhile Randy is fighting himself over the attraction he feels for Jesse, gradually allowing himself to look at a different future than has always been on the cards.
When the two spend time together, it's easy to read their attraction and connection through K.C's writing. She does amazing work with all types of situations and this story has less angst, for me, than book 1 but is no less enjoyable. The two men battle with themselves over what they actually want and their friends are a big help in supporting them in times of need. There are times of fun, heat and sadness but it all flows really well together to give us a wonderful story that is easy to love.
Highly recommend this book and the series, love the men and friendships we read and looking forward to the next installment.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review
