The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy

2.0

I'm not even sure where to begin with this book. After reading the synopsis I immediately added the book to my ever growing TBR list. This book started out very intriguing and kept me interested in what had happened to Baby Midas. Where is he? Who took him? Why did the nanny not notice he was missing? Why is the mother not more upset? It did a good job at setting up a very compelling storyline that I was curious about. Not long after it started diving into the lives of 3 of the mothers from the Mommy group that the mother of the missing baby was a part of. I found it incredibly difficult to try and remember who was who and feel interested in what they had going on in their lives. I never felt like I couldn't put this book down. In fact I had to tell myself to continue reading, (i'm not a quitter when it comes to finishing books!). I was hoping for some moment to grab my attention and keep me invested in the story, but it never came. Even as the story wrapped up I wasn't even sure how much I cared what happened anymore. The ending was confusing at first and abrupt. This novel was just not my cup of tea. Not terrible but nothing I would recommend to anyone looking for a suspenseful book. 2/5
