One of my favorite books. I loved every character in it, every story. Guenassia writes in a very simple, sweet but also profound way, that made me feel like I was in a french movie.
It's not a book about politics, though there is a lot of modern political history in there. It' s a book about people who were forced one way or another to leave their lives and find new ones, with the ghosts of the past ever with them. It's about love, friendship, family, war, coming of age.
I usually don't reccomend a book to everyone, but this one I think should be read by every person that loves reading.
