USED RECORD - ★★★
The twist at the end of was quite unexpected, but I wish it had been thrown in earlier. I felt like most of this one was about a very vague, unexplained obsession with the record. While I understand what is on the record now, I still don't get why it is so captivating.

SHIVER - ★★★
The namesake of this collection. I thought this would give me more trypophobia vibes, but again I just have a lot of 'why?' questions...

FASHION MODEL - ★★★
This one was starting to bring the creep, but I felt like it lacked some direction. Some creepy/scary things were happening, but they seemed a bit pointless and more for shock. Well, I wasn't that shocked.. I wish there was more to this one.

HANGING BLIMP - ★★★★
I feel like this story was where things finally started to pick up. It was ominous and didn't handhold the story and its meaning throughout the images. I thought it was very original and well thought out.

MARIONET MANSION - ★★★★★
This is where I fully bought-in to the book as a whole. Something very creepy about puppets and marionets, and the powerplay between puppeteer and puppet is eerie. The last few lines had me questioning how I read the entire story.

THE PAINTER - ★★★★
Talk of Tomie, who I know has their own Junji Ito book dedicated. It was interesting, and I was hoping Tomie had more of a cause in what happens. Creepy, and a little bit like sirens?

THE LONG DREAM - ★★★★
Hell yes. Give me existential dread and another reason to fear going to sleep. I connected with this one TOO MUCH. I often find myself a bit wary waking up, so this was truly chilling.

HONORED ANCESTORS - ★★★★★
So grim, so many questions... But I felt like this was OUT OF NOWHERE and I loved it and … feared it. I had questions, but in this instance the story is so twisted I could piece together scenarios and it left me with goosebumps.

GREASED - ★★★★★
I think I loved this one so much because I could relate to the grease from cooking sticking to the walls. Obviously not to this extreme, but I could PHYSCIALLY FEEL this entire story. Sopping wet bedding covered in grease, humidity from it all, the zits.... Oof this one was messed up.

FASHION MODEL: CURSED FRAME - ★★★
Not the amazing landing I hoped this book would have, but still interesting. I liked this one more than 'Fashion Model' because it wasn't simply calling the woman out for her looks. I felt like there was something ominous behind her motives an where she is from.. or what she is. I'm not sure, but I'd love to know more about her origin and WHY.
