I am Not Myself These Days by Josh Kilmer-Purcell

dark emotional funny hopeful reflective sad fast-paced

4.5

Never wanted to finish a book so fast. And now i feel empty. ❤️

The author had me hooked. I’m not even remotely interested in drag or vices or life in New York in the 90s; i knew nothing about the author, yet he managed to make me care. By the end of it i adored him and his words. Words that are both funny and painful. And the way he described the events in his life was awfully visual, it feels like you’re there, actually spectating at the moment.

Nearing the end he gives this life lesson of his about simply keeping on. Then closes it all by just embracing mundanity, because that’s how it really is.
