I liked the first two books a lot but this one is way too long, complicated and chaotic. We had one straight forward "there's been a murder" case and one case about several missing girls that wasn't even a case until Frieda heard a story about a haircut and latched on like a bull terrier. Frieda behaves more strangely than ever before in this story. For a start, she is a terrible friend. I don't know how she has so many - she constantly ignores their attempts at getting in touch, she leaves the house without telling anyone where she's going or what she is doing, and without Josef, that would have killed her at the end. She is very smart and very idiotic at the same time, with no regard for her personal safety, and it's exhausting. As a previous reviewer remarked, her bath gets too much of a starring role, whereas people like Sandy get shoved to the side. 150 fewer pages, and it would have been a good read. However, I'm still looking forward to the rest of the series.
