Stunning work. I want to read it again - this was an audiobook and I thought the narration brought more emotion to it but I want the physical book to annotate as well. It has such nuance in exploring the experience of family, unbelonging, grief and connection. Written from mostly one perspective but also including other characters too. Poignant and poetic. And exploring the injustices of the world and how systems fail people. It’s sad but also hopeful, and understanding. One of my favourites of the year and something that will stay with me.
