Circus + The Skin by Keith McCleary

1.0

I received a free copy of Circus + The Skin from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley!

At first, I was not going to review this novel because I did not finish it. I got about halfway through this novel before putting it down and realizing it was not the book for me. However, I thought I would give a little feedback in case anyone else finds it helpful. Lately, I have realized that a first-person perspective is not my preferred style, and I tend to gravitate towards novels written in the third person. For me, the character has to be compelling to enjoy the first-person perspective, but Sue did not do it for me. This was definitely disappointing because my favorite setting is in the circus, and I was excited to jump into the story.

However, my main gripe was with the perspective and writing style, so I do not discourage anyone from picking up this book and trying it out. If these things are not a problem for you, then you might like it!

Has anyone else read this? What were your thoughts? <3
