Pain Killer: An Empire of Deceit and the Origin of America's Opioid Epidemic by Barry Meier

5.0

Unputdownable

This is the first book I read about narcotics addiction. Got me hooked to the subject. Meier's writing style makes it easier for laypeople to understand some basic concepts about how these drugs function and where its addictive properties lie.

It's also a great book to get a bit of knowledge on pharmaceutical marketing, something you don't intentionally think too often.
