The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen

3.0

I enjoyed this book. I truly loved the political intrigue. I liked the FMC and MMC, though their relationship was somehow BOTH a slow burn and instalove? (They barely spent any time together over a period of months then were suddenly in love?) I’m also very confused how this is considered fantasy—especially high fantasy. There is no magic, no mystical creatures, and it centers around the stories of two humans. One a king, one a princess and trained assassin. That said, it seems more like a romance book with some fictional places and political intrigue. I would never consider this a high fantasy book. Overall, I liked the story but am confused about the author’s intent for this story and the rest of the series.
