Skinny Bitch: A No-Nonsense, Tough-Love Guide for Savvy Girls Who Want to Stop Eating Crap and Start Looking Fabulous! by Kim Barnouin, Rory Freedman

4.0

This is a really fun, quick read on veganism. It's written in really simple terms with a lot of crassness thrown in, in a good way. It starts out with short chapters on why all the junk we eat, like soda, is bad for us. Great chapter titles, like Sugar is the Devil. They dispel all the myths that we've been fed about why we have to eat meat and dairy. The authors go into details about all the benefits of a vegan lifestyle and explain the political and cruelty aspects in easy to understand terms while still quoting plenty of studies. They even have a nice 4 week meal plan set up at the end and lists of resources and vegan foods named by brand.

What I particularly like about this book is the underlying message of being healthy and taking care of yourself and your body. Although the title may lead you to believe it's all about being skinny, it really isn't.
