One of the most heartbreaking books one could read. It’s a very intense, almost agonizingly-slow paced novel, and at times the story is very painful to read. It really is about the ups and downs of despair, however I guarantee whoever reads it will finish it loving Jude. This one is 100% worth it but remember to breathe. *spoiler* One of the moments during the story I most fell in love with while I was reading was when Jude and his friends got locked out of party so they had to climb back in through the window— I could just visually see it in my mind when Willem insisted on helping him, holding Jude tight in order to steady him enough to unlock the window. It was just such a heartfelt moment— and I cried when it was mentioned again at the very, very end of the book (with important context to the end). Very dear to my heart, and I will be reading it again one day when I have the time.
