I really, really enjoyed this book, but I dont think I was adequately prepared for how HEAVY this book is. HOWEVER, Butlers writing truly is phenomenal. I really appreciated how even during the truly brutally violent scenes, it wasnt in graphic detail.
The story was so intricate, yet easy to follow. Laurens POV was very interesting, but sometimes i found her a bit insufferable with how arrogant she seemed, BUT i loved how she knows who she is and she didnt let anyone tear her or her beliefs down.
I didnt love the age gap with her third act love interest, but it didnt seem predatory to me.
Butler brought up SUCH interesting points of view on economic, environmental, and societal collapse.
